Scindapsus treubii 'Dark Form' requires bright, indirect light and a well-draining, chunky soil mix that dries out slightly between waterings. 
Light Requirements
  • Provide bright, indirect light to keep the dark, velvety leaves healthy and maintain steady growth.
  • Avoid harsh, direct sunlight, which can scorch the glossy leaves.
  • It tolerates lower or medium light better than many tropicals, but too much shade will slow growth or cause leggy stems. 
    • Watering
  • Allow the top 3 to 4 cm (1 to 1.5 inches) of soil to dry completely before watering again.
  • Water thoroughly until excess drains from the bottom of the pot, and never let the plant sit in standing water to prevent root rot.
  • Reduce watering frequency during cooler winter months when growth naturally slows down. 
    • Soil and Potting
  • Use an airy, well-draining aroid mix made of components like potting compost, orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir.
  • Repot every 1 to 2 years in the spring only when the plant has outgrown its current container. 
    • Temperature and Humidity
  • Maintain warm indoor temperatures between 20°C and 30°C (68°F–86°F) and keep the plant away from cold drafts or temperatures below 15°C (59°F).
